💪 Animal Advocacy Org Updates: The Effective Altruism (EA) Animal Welfare Fund publishes its payout report for January to March 2025, outlining 13 grants totaling $1.2 million. The payout report includes some anonymous grantees, and discusses the balance between transparency and safety on the one hand, and strategic considerations on the other.

🌏 Hive at Global Events
At the Jaulas Abiertas (“Open Cages”) launch event in Peru on April 5, Alexia, our LatAm Ambassador, introduced Hive to around 140 attendees. The event marked the launch of a collective of 200 volunteers committed to taking online actions to support animal advocacy and welfare. Alexia’s presentation was warmly received, and a dedicated Hive Slack channel for the project will be launching soon!
I (Sofia) am very excited to be giving a talk titled “From a Side Project to a Funded Organisation: My Story and What I've Learned“ at OmirConf, a Russian-speaking animal advocacy conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan! 🇰🇿 For the first time, I’ll be speaking in my native language about Hive’s story and what I’ve learned starting impactful community projects.
