Hive Slack Threads: January
Useful conversations & resources from our Slack community
Before we get started…
We just launched our 2024 Community Survey! 🧡 This survey is one of our most important tools to measure our impact and understand where we can improve. If you have benefitted from Hive in any way and/or have feedback to share, please take ~15 minutes to take the survey!
There have been many exciting news and projects on Slack and you can learn about them in under 10 minutes. Huge thanks to Em Stokes, who helped us put together this edition!
💡For the best experience, please be logged into your Hive Slack account in this browser (or, if you’re viewing it on your phone, be logged into your Slack phone app). Otherwise, you won’t be able to view the full conversations with the links.

🧡 Introductions
Our #01-introductions channel is a great way to get to know the community.
It’s never too late to introduce yourself! Here are some recent intros:
I’m Rakefet Cohen Ben-Ayre, a scientist living in Israel. I am part of the China Vegan Society, an organisation that runs campaigns such as the Vegan Summit, grant programs and a vegan events app.
I’m Nino, and my academic background spans philosophy, psychology and the life sciences. I am looking to found a UK-based organisation focused on education outreach for students to learn about factory farming.
I’m Ana and I’m a biotechnology undergraduate student. I would love to find a volunteer role in a research project or science communication.
I’m Lutebemberwa Isa, a vet surgeon based in Uganda. I want to build connections with individuals dedicated to ending animal suffering.
I’m Abhay Rangan, founder and former CEO at One Good (plant-based dairy) based in India. I can provide guidance on alt protein, advocacy, business, and tech interventions.
