🌏 Buzzing Globally: EAGx & AVA Recap
This past month, the Hive team’s been out in full force—connecting, learning, and building alongside fellow advocates around the world.
Kevin spent an energizing weekend representing Hive at EAGxPrague, where he explored the intersections of AI and animal advocacy with a diverse crowd of thinkers. A standout moment was the informal AI and animals meetup he co-hosted with Joanna Michalska, which split into two discussion groups—one diving into introductory topics and strategic gaps, the other engaging deeply with existing ideas. The strong turnout and enthusiasm underscored just how underexplored and urgent this intersection is!
Next up was the Animal & Vegan Advocacy (AVA) Summit, where the full Hive team met in person for the first time. After four energizing days, we’re now back home across four continents—ready to act on everything we learned. We connected with over 200 advocates which reminded us just how much care fuels this movement. A few key themes stood out: a deepening hunger for connection rooted in trust, and a need for clearer, more inclusive pathways for farmed animal advocates especially across the Global South. These insights will guide Hive’s next steps as we continue building the community infrastructure our movement needs. Whether or not we got to speak with you, thank you for showing up. We’re honored to grow alongside you!
And before we scattered again, we carved out time for something special: an in-person Hive team retreat! We spent two days reflecting, learning from each other, and reimagining what Hive could become. There were strategy sessions, spontaneous brainstorms, and plenty of laughter! We came away feeling recharged and more aligned than ever on our mission to amplify the impact of farmed animal advocates everywhere.
🤝🏾 Come Say Hi(ve) in Person…
Kevin will be at the AI, Animals & Digital Minds conference this weekend. Next weekend, I (Sofia) and Kevin are both attending EA Global: London, 6–8 June. If you're attending either event, come say hi(ve)! We’d love to connect, hear what you’re working on, and explore how Hive can support your next steps in the movement.
💻 …Or Connect with the Hive Community, Wherever You Are!
Are you a fundraiser? On 29 May (tomorrow!), join the next Hive Fundraising Community Call for an hour of supportive and relevant conversation and connection. Facilitated by Liz Wheeler, Philanthropy Manager at Faunalytics, this will be a friendly and crowd-sourced conversation amongst fundraisers to discuss what has and has not worked for them! Fundraisers of all levels welcome—register via Luma.
Stay tuned! Our Community Coordinator Nazlı is planning the next edition of Hive Community Conversations for June—we’ll share the registration link on LinkedIn and the Hive Slack soon!
